A Hands off approach

So you can Stay Present

Most couples I work with don’t want to feel like they’re being filmed.

They don’t want to repeat moments or be taken away from their guests. They want to experience the day fully, without interruption.

I work in a way that allows that to happen. I stay close to what’s unfolding, without directing it. The focus is always on capturing real moments as they naturally happen, whether that’s something quiet before the ceremony or the shift in energy as the evening builds.

The result is a film that feels honest, but still considered.

FOUNDATION

It begins with the setting. Scotland shapes the tone from the moment your guests arrive. The landscape, the scale, the sense of space. This isn’t just a wedding day. It’s a gathering that unfolds over time, shaped by where you are and who you’ve brought together.

PACE

The weekend builds naturally. Arrivals turn into welcome drinks. Conversations stretch. By the wedding day, everything has momentum. Then it slows again. The morning after, quieter moments before everyone leaves.

PRESENCE

Nothing is directed. I move through the day quietly, capturing what’s already happening. The reactions, the movement, the atmosphere as it builds. You stay in it. I document it.

LEGACY

What remains is the full experience. Not just how it looked, but how it felt to be there. The setting, the energy, the people. A film that holds the entire weekend.

Hopetoun House Wedding Videographer

Hopetoun House, just outside Edinburgh, is one of Scotland’s most iconic private estates, overlooking the Firth of Forth and offering a setting that feels expansive from the moment guests arrive.

This wedding began with a full Highland Games experience within the grounds. Guests arrived on red buses and stepped into an afternoon of activity, including caber tossing, archery and axe throwing, with performers moving throughout the estate.

As the wedding day unfolded, guests gathered within the stables before moving into the main ballroom, surrounded by large-scale floral design and live music that carried the energy into the evening. The night ended with a firework display across the grounds. Weddings at Hopetoun House are about scale, but also about how each part of the experience connects.

Loch Lomond Wedding Videographer

Loch Lomond offers a completely different atmosphere, with open water, mountains and constantly shifting light that brings a natural sense of movement to the day. Matt and Lara’s wedding spanned three days, bringing together over 300 guests for a full destination experience.

Their ceremony took place within a glasshouse along the shoreline, framed by an extensive floral installation. Earlier in the day, their first look took place on the staircase at Cameron House, creating a quieter moment before everything opened up. As the evening began, the energy shifted quickly into one of the most intense celebrations I’ve filmed, with live music and a packed dance floor carrying late into the night.

To capture this properly, we worked as a team of three filmmakers, allowing the story to unfold without interruption.

Kinross House Wedding Videographer

Kinross House sits beside Loch Leven, with one of the most recognisable approaches of any Scottish wedding venue.
Preparations took place on-site before heading to a nearby cathedral for the ceremony, allowing the day to flow naturally without disruption.

As the couple returned, we captured a full aerial sequence along the estate drive, creating a moment that anchors the entire film.
The evening reception took place under a sail tent within the grounds, where the atmosphere shifted into something more relaxed and celebratory.

Kinross House offers both scale and space, which allows for a film that feels balanced and complete.
